An earthmoving giant — the new DX700LC

Winter 2011

Doosan introduces its largest crawler excavator ever — the DX700LC (coming in 2011) — designed for the most demanding applications, such as mining and quarrying, as well as large construction projects, such as infrastructure developments.

The DX700LC has outstanding productivity, superior comfort for the operator and is built with durable Doosan parts for reliability and maximum uptime. The long carriage (LC) design of the DX700LC also offers an expanded undercarriage to a maximum working width of 13 feet for optimum stability and performance in a variety of digging, lifting and loading applications.

463-hp engine
A 6-cylinder "common rail" turbocharged diesel engine provides 463 horsepower and meets U.S. EPA emissions regulations. Maximum torque is 1,460 foot-pounds. The high-pressure fuel injection system with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) improves efficiency while exhaust particulate matter and nitrogen oxide emissions are reduced. The electronic control system provides optimum power at reduced fuel consumption in all working conditions.

A Doosan Cooling Fan control (DCF) regulates the fan speed, based on coolant and hydraulic oil temperature, thereby minimizing fuel consumption. Audible alarms and visual warning lights alert the operator of excessive high temperatures, while an overheat prevention system is automatically activated if coolant temperatures should reach 230 degrees Fahrenheit.

Advanced hydraulics
The hydraulic system of the DX700LC provides exceptional performance while minimizing fuel consumption. A new mode control system provides the optimum power and efficiency for all operating conditions with four modes to choose from: power, standard, economy and lifting. Power and standard modes are ideal for heavy-duty digging, loading and dumping; economy for medium-duty digging, loading and dumping; and lifting for lifting pipes or beams.

A load-sensing piston pump and closed center valve enable fine control of hydraulic flow for smooth, precise machine functions. Flow regeneration conserves energy and enables increased boom and arm cycle times, which increases productivity.

Operator comfort
The DX700LC has an unmatched spacious operator cabin, equipped with ergonomic controls and state-of-the-art instrumentation. Improved sealing of the engine compartment and extensive use of sound-dampening materials minimize the noise level to the operator and bystanders. Operator noise level is 76 dB(A). Bystander noise level is 108 dB(A).
